Our Worlds
Enigma Studios is in the business of making worlds and sharing stories. Some of these worlds are fun, some of them are serious, and we’d like to think that all of them are a trip to be in. We’re working to develop games and merchandise for these fantastic Other Places, and we’re happy to share it all with you.

Small Balls! And the Captain of Outer Space
“Small Balls!” is a comedy/sci-fi universe based on the pop culture of the late 80’s to the 1990’s, steeped in the flavors of Saturday Morning Cartoons, the first wave of anime dubs, 16-bit video gaming, and, of course, the classic point-and-click adventure games of that era. Animation was ‘x-treme’ and toyetic, video games were just starting to understand that “hard” didn’t mean “good”, and those Weird Kids were obsessing over those newfangled Japanese Cartoons like Sailor Moon and Dragonball Z. We’ve taken those warm, nostalgic feelings, juiced them, put in a few heavy shots of satire and commentary, and then blended them to make this artisanal madness.
Mysterious objects of 'techno-magical’ power, known as the Small Balls, have been scattered throughout the universe by mysterious forces. They are powerful enough on their own, every mystical pair able to produce strange effects by clacking them together— but these Small Balls can be even more powerful! Once their power is unlocked by a Sacred Arcane Channeler, the Small Balls can make their user truly extraordinary. There is only one known Sacred Arcane Channeler left in the galaxy: The Captain of Outer Space! He has put out a call to all Ball Hunters: bring him the Sacred Number of Small Balls, and he will unlock their true potential!
The catch, of course, is that no-one but the Captain knows what the Sacred Number is— so Ball Hunters from all over the Galaxy seek to accrue as many sets of Small Balls as they can, hoping to bring them to the Captain for fortune and glory!
Small Balls! aims to celebrate the absurdity of the pop culture of those days while also poking fun at it, reminding us all that tropes exist for a reason— they tell great stories, even if they can be very transparent!

The Horseman
In a flat in London, a home invasion robbery goes horribly wrong. In South America, a demon assassin kills the Horseman, War. In the plane standing behind the world, the other immortals search for answers. Beneath the peaks of the Himalayas, a new threat rises. Elsewhere, an ancient threat returns. The mundane world proceeds unaware that ripples are disturbing the magical community among them. Not even Kristof Pirra, poster boy for Scotland Yard's Magical Affairs Division, is able to see what the future holds. Death occurs when War appears, and now, Adept Pirra, with the aid of a Vampire and a Were must find answers to questions they don't know to ask. Can they protect those important to them? Can they stop War from becoming Earth's destroyer?
A dark fantasy world based on the works of the Horseman Trust. A modern-day setting where magic is very real and present, working with and against technology, and the fantasy races of antiquity can be seen clubbing with your everyday human. Magical artifacts take their place in the arsenals of major paramilitary forces alongside assault weapons, and in the more luxurious corners of the world, teleporters take wealthy clients to upscale dance clubs with troll bouncers.
In the midst of all of this, the Horsemen of the Apocalypse are watching.
Not merely forces of the divine, the Horsemen are special mortals, chosen by the powers that be to assume these powerful mantles and guide the world through their domains of Death, War, Famine, Pestilence, and Fate. The balance of power is upended when the unthinkable happens— a mortal fashions an orichalcum weapon and uses it to kill War, forcing the next person in line to assume the mantle… a young girl, chosen decades earlier than she was meant to serve. How will young Marie and those closest to her navigate the otherworldly power struggle? Who orchestrated the killing of War itself? And will this upset in the balance of divine power finally force the End of Days?
